Q. How can my Healthier Environment Living Program™ Certified Inspector Professional tell if I have a problem in my home or business?

A. All Healthier Environment Living Program™ Professionals are Indoor Air and Surface Quality (IASQ™) Certified Inspector Professionals.
What that means to you is that your Healthier Environment Living Program™ Certified Inspector Professional can perform Air and Surface quality testing ( Healthier Verifications™ ) to show you exactly what exists in the environment you live and work in.
This testing can then help determine how to best protect that environment, making it more healthy for everyone.

Q. Why haven’t I heard of the Healthier Environment Living Program™ Program before?

A. Over 25 years of research and development went in to the creation of the XMICROBE™ Technology that is used in our Healthier Environment Living Program™. Until recently, the XMICROBE™ Technology has been used in the textile industry and was marketed little to home and business owners. Over the last two and half years, the creators of the Healthier Environment Living Program™ have made tremendous efforts on building a solid global foundation to provide the best and most affordable Healthier Environment program to homes & businesses. Great services like this one take time to create and implement. Public need for such a service became most evident over the last couple years.

Q. How does XMICROBE™ Technology anti-microbial protection work?

A. The active ingredient in the XMICROBE™ Technology forms a colorless, odorless, positively charged polymer, which chemically bonds to the treated surface. You could think of it as a layer of electrically charged swords. When a microorganism comes in contact with the treated surface, the quaternary amine sword punctures the cell membrane and the electrical charge shocks the cell. Since nothing is transferred to the now dead cell, the anti-microbial doesn’t lose strength and the sword is ready for the next cell to contact it. Note that in order for the XMICROBE™Technology Antimicrobials to continue their effectiveness, normal cleaning of treated surfaces is necessary. Dirt buildup, paint, dead microbes, etc. will cover the treatment prohibiting it from killing microorganisms.

Q. What is XMICROBE™ Technology anti-microbial?

A. XMICROBE™ Technology is a spray-on anti-microbial protection for porous, and non-porous surfaces. XMICROBE™ Technology anti-microbial protection gives substrates an added level of protection against damaging microbes such as, bacteria, mold and mildew that can cause stains, odors and product deterioration.  XMICROBE™Technology is a combination of a disinfectant and protectant.  By utilizing our XMICROBE™Microbiostatic Agent (long lasting protectant) blended with our XMICROBE™ Neutral Disinfectant Cleaner (Immediate surface disinfectant) we offer the ultimate disinfect and protect antimicrobial product.

Q. What types of microorganisms does XMICROBE™ Technology protection work against?

A. XMICROBE™ Technology anti-microbial protection is effective immediately at reducing and eliminating  harmful bacteria, germs, viruses, molds and leaving behind a protective coating that offers long lasting protection with just one application.

Q. How do I know that XMICROBE™ Technology anti-microbial product protection is safe?

A. XMICROBE™ Technology has undergone extensive independent laboratory testing and has a long 35 year history of safe use. It is registered with the EPA for all applications in which it is used.

Q. Does this mean I don’t have to clean my environment as much or as carefully?

A. Although XMICROBE™ Technology protection provides continuous anti-microbial protection it is recommended that routine cleanings are continued.  The difference is after routine cleanings your surfaces will be safer and healthier.

Q. How long does XMICROBE™ Technology anti-microbial protection work?

A. XMICROBE™ Technology protection is applied to the surface and will not wash off. XMICROBE™ Technology protection is engineered to provide continuous anti-microbial product protection for ninety (90) days or greater, keeping the environment in your home or business cleaner and fresher for longer than ever before, making this an extremely affordable solution.

Q. Does the use of XMICROBE™ Technology anti-microbials cause resistant strains of microorganisms?

A. No. since this is a mechanical action there is no opportunity for cell adaptation or mutation.  Since it is non-toxic and non-poisonous it can’t create super-bugs.

Q. Does mold and mildew release harmful particles in the air?

A. Mold and mildew release toxins into the air and should be treated with the Healthier Environment Living Program as soon as possible. For an excessive amount of mold & mildew, a certified mold abatement professional (remediator) should be contacted for removal since our Healthier Environment Living Program is a pro-active and preventative program.

Q. What is MRSA?

A. Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) (usually pronounced in short as “Mursa”, alternatively as “Mister Sa”), is a bacterium responsible for some difficult-to-treat infections in humans. It may also be referred to as multiple-resistant Staphylococcus aureus or oxacillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (ORSA). The organism is often sub-categorized as community-acquired MRSA (CA-MRSA) or hospital-acquired MRSA (HA-MRSA) depending upon the circumstances of acquiring disease, based on current data that these are distinct strains of the bacterial species.

MRSA is a resistant variation of the common bacteria, Staphylococcus aureus. It has evolved an ability to survive treatment with beta-lactam antibiotics, including penicillin and methicillin. MRSA is especially troublesome in hospital-acquired (nosocomial) infections. In hospitals, patients with open wounds and weakened immune systems are at greater risk for infection than general public. Hospital staff who do not follow proper sanitary procedures may inadvertently transfer bacterial colonies from patient to patient. MRSA was discovered in 1961 in the UK. It is now found worldwide. MRSA is often referred to in the press as a super-bug.

Q. Does XMICROBE™ Technology help in the protection from MRSA?

A. Yes, the Healthy Environment Living Program™ uses an EPA Registered product that offers a mechanical kill from many micro-organisms.

Q. How will the Healthier Environment Living Program™ help my home and family?

Through our trained IASQ™Certified Inspector Professionals, we offer Healthier Verifications™air and surface testing.  Through the reports and data management received, we help with solutions in the elimination and prevention of bacteria, germs, viruses, mold and mildew in your home.  This leaves your home or business environment much safer and healthier.

Q. Will your program help my business?

A. A business is just as important as a home. On average, the indoor air we breath is 2 to 5 times dirtier then the outdoor air. Our program will help in the indoor air quality, help in preventing cross-contamination of harmful bacteria, germs, viruses and prevent mold and mildew. Here are a few statistics to further educate you:

• The Environmental Protection Agency ranks poor indoor air quality among the top five environmental risks to public health.  Interestingly, five out of 10 Americans are not aware of this fact. (Source: American Lung Association and 3M survey, 2002)
• Levels of air pollution inside the home can be two to five times higher (and occasionally 100 times higher) than outdoor levels. (Source: Environmental Protection Agency, 2002)
• More than 50 percent of Americans are not aware that poor indoor air quality is one of the top five most urgent environmental risks to public health. And nearly 25 percent of Americans are not concerned about the air quality in their homes and the impact it can have on their family’s health.
• Less than 20 percent of Americans believe that the air inside their homes is more polluted than the air outdoors.
• However, the Environmental Protection Agency states that levels of air pollution inside the home can be two to five times higher - and occasionally up to 100 times higher - than outdoor levels.

Q. Once the XMICROBE is applied, which type of active ingredient will affect the bonding of the Organosilane?

A. There is none…only high Ph products that will actually take off the surface where it is bonded.

Q. Is the XMICROBE Neutral Disinfectant like any other disinfectant?

A. We produced this one to work correctly with the Anti-microbial Biostatic Agent - of course there are hundreds of other disinfectants on the market.

Q. Can the customer can do the usual cleaning with any type of soap? 

A. Mild neutral cleaners are less costly and more environmentally friendly. But many will continue to use their regular products which are fine.
